The 2022 edition of the Meetings of the National Programme to Support Diaspora Investment will be officially presented this Wednesday, November 2, 2022, in a session consisting of two moments, which will be attended by the Secretary of State for the Portuguese Communities, Paulo Cafôfo, and the Secretary of State for Regional Development, Isabel Ferreira.

The launch session of the 2022 edition of the Meetings will start with the visit to a business project, an example of investment from the Diaspora. This is a project developed by an emigrant from Ourique who, after a long activity in France, invested on his homeland and is already making a new investment in Ourém.

Later, the program of the PNAID Meetings will be presented with the presence of regional and local institutional partners.

Both moments are open to the Media.

The presentation will include interventions from the Secretaries of State Paulo Cafôfo and Isabel Ferreira, as well as from the co-organizing partners, namely the Mayor of Ourém, Luís Miguel Albuquerque, the President of the Intermunicipal Community of Médio Tejo, Anabela Freitas and the President of the Centre Region Coordination and Development Commission, Isabel Damasceno.

The Meetings of the National Programme for Diaspora Investment Support (PNAID), which in 2021 were postponed due to the epidemiological situation of COVID 19, will be held on 15-17 December this year, in Fátima.

The PNAID is an initiative to enhance the Portuguese communities that promotes Diaspora investment, especially in the interior of the country, as well as exports and internationalisation of national companies through the Diaspora (see more information on the official website of the programme).

The 2022 edition, which gives continuity to the Diaspora Investors Meetings, held since 2016, received - with the approval of the PNAID - a new concept and a more flexible, more complete and more dynamic programme, counting with the participation of Portuguese entrepreneurs abroad, individual entrepreneurs who want to invest in Portugal, national companies that want to internationalise through the diaspora, as well as entities that belong to the Diaspora Investment Support Network.

Over the three days of the event, in addition to the plenary sessions, presentation sessions of ideas, projects and investment solutions, parallel thematic sessions will be promoted focusing on the themes of Agriculture and Agro-food; Industry 4.0 and Advanced Production; Tourism and Sustainability; Sea and Blue Economy; Digital and Health; Ideas and Business in the Interior Territories.  Round tables, dynamic networking sessions and visits to companies in the Middle Tagus will be other topics on the programme.

The PNAID Meetings are a joint initiative of the Secretary of State for Portuguese Communities and the Secretary of State for Regional Development. This edition is co-organized by the Municipality of Ourém and by the Intermunicipal Community of Médio Tejo, in partnership with the Centre Region Coordination and Development Commission.

The registration process takes place on the official website www.encontrosdiaspora.pt
